Casa Spratling: A Culinary Gem in Taxco, Mexico

The food is amazing here. We were in Taxco for 2 days and ate here twice! They have unique dishes like huazontles, lasagna with blue mushroom and lasagna with mole. All of them were so good! Nice atmosphere as well

Excellent food, cozy atmosphere, good services. The food is more like a fusion of US cuisine and Mexico cuisine. I bet people who are used to traditional american breakfast but not so much as Mexican food will loooove it. It's a little hard to find the restaurant but everything here definitely deserves the efforts.

Excellent place to eat out of the noise but within the downtown area. And a little peak to the church. And the views are great. The food was amazing the place it’s a bit hidden. But it was worth the little walk to get there. The ravioli were amazing , and the pizza too. Great service!! Will always go back here.

We stayed in Taxco for 10 days, found S Caffecito on day 7, and went there every day afterward. The restaurant is truly relaxing; enjoy a glass of wine, toasted bread, a piece of the Mole Lasagna, a salad, a piece of cake... Anything! It is all delicious and held within a setting that is a mixture of history, home, and a fusion of European and Mexican culture. Many thanks to Vio and her crew for the fantastic experience.

Amazing. You feel like you are having breakfast at a friend's house. They make everything to order on the spot and it's a lovely cool place to have a meal during the hot day.

Very cozy little spot - was deserted while we were there, adding to the ambiance. We got the chilaquiles verdes y huevos estrellados and both were excellent. David, our mesero, was incredibly friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere alone should bring you through the door.

Place is good and cozy. I see it specializes in Mexican-Italian fusion. The Lasagna de Mole is a must, be warned thought, the flavor is very strong and you won't like it if you're not used to spicy food. I would avoid juices, they're too watery. Place is cozy to have lunch or a snack, there's even books in English. Sad thing is it doesn't have a view of the town, otherwise is a good place to eat.

Love at first sight! The whole ambiance is so charming and homey! THE food is the main reason we came back a second time. Definitely try the French press coffee and huanzontle! And all their Italian dishes! The server is also really really friendly, accommodating to a vegetarian and informative—speaks English really well. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Violante. She came and introduced herself, chatted with us for a little bit, gave us a little tour and lots of tips and recommendations! We’ll definitely come back every time we’re in Taxco :)
